Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Hosea 5:1-6:3. The indictment against Israel continues in this chapter. How has Israel sinned against God?
  2. Consider verse 4. How can one’s deeds prohibit one from returning to God? If we have such a hindrance, how can anyone “return” to God?
  3. What is the imminent punishment spoken about in verses 8-14? Who is the greatest threat against Israel?
  4. Who is speaking in the verses 5:15-6:3? What does God want from his people? What is promised?
  5. Hosea 6:2 is one of the Scriptures that needed to be fulfilled in Christ (see Luke 24:46 & 1 Cor. 15:4). Why does Christ need to fulfill this and not Israel or even us?
