Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Hebrews 10:1-10. What does the writer intend to communicate by using the word “shadow” in verse 1? What are the “good things to come”?
- Why are the OT sacrifices inadequate? For what are they adequate?
- Consider the quote of Psalm 40 in verses 5-7. As a Psalm of David, what were these verses communicating? How does Christ fulfill them?
- What is the will of God regarding covenant relationship with his people and sacrifices? Are you in the will of God?
- What is the good news found in verse 10? How does the finality of Christ’s sacrifice impact our sanctification?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Hebrews 10:4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. (ESV)
