Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Judges 14:1-20. What is Samson’s weakness? How does his weakness get him into trouble? When do you find it hardest not to act on impulse?
- Read Exodus 34:11-16. How does Samson and Israel break this command? What is the danger warned?
- Why is assimilation into the surrounding culture so attractive for churches, and for individual believers? How do you feel that pressure in your life?
- What is God doing in this chapter? Does it bother you that God works in and through the sinful actions of Samson? Explain.
- How have you seen the Lord working through your sin, or someone else’s sin? How does this lead you to praise him?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Genesis 50:20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. (ESV)
