Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read John 6:35-51. Jesus’ statement, “I am the bread of life,” is one of his best known and loved from the gospels. What have you learned about this statement? What do you love about it?
- Consider verses 37 & 44. What is Jesus explaining in these verses? The word “grace” is not used in this context, but explain how these verses teach grace.
- Why do the Jews grumble in verse 41? How are they blind to grace? How are you blind to grace?
- What is the invitation of this passage? Why is it so simple?
- How can we reconcile God’s sovereignty (emphasized in v. 37 & 44) with human responsibility to believe? What comforts does God’s sovereign grace give to you?
