Christ Must Be Lifted Up

 Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read John 12:27-36. Why is Jesus troubled? Why is this encouraging to you and me?
  2. How do Jesus’ words in verses 27-28 compare with Matthew 26:39? What do we learn about prayer in times of distress from Jesus?
  3. How has God glorified his name? How will he glorify it? Compare with Ezekiel 36:22-32.
  4. In what way is the world judged at the cross? How does Jesus’ death glorify the Father?
  5. How do we glorify God? How does verse 36 fit into that calling?
