- Read Isaiah 9:1-7. What is the “darkness”? In what ways do you walk in darkness?
- What brings joy to the people?
- What is the yoke of oppression in verse 3? What is the danger of thinking of oppression in only earthly terms? Spiritual terms? How is spiritual oppression connected with earthly oppression?
- Is the child mentioned in verse 6 the same as the child in 7:14? Why or why not?
- Why is it necessary for the Messiah to be divine?
- What difference does it make for you that Jesus is fully God?
