Ephesians: Walk Worthy

Of Salvation

  • The Motivation of Salvation
  • The Transformation of Salvation
  • The Destiny of Salvation

Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Ephesians 2:1-7. Why is the adversative conjunction (“but”) so striking and important at the beginning of verse 4?
  2. Why does God save us? Does anything about us add to God’s motivation to save? Why or why not?
  3. What is salvation? What does it do to us? In other words, what do the three verbs of verses 5 & 6 mean for us?
  4. Compare verses 5 & 6 with Romans 6:1-11. In what ways are we transformed by being united with Christ?
  5. According to verse 7, what does God have in store for believers for all eternity? In what ways has God exhibited the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward you today? This week?

Memory Verse of the Week:

Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved. (ESV)
