Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Ephesians 6:1-4. How did your parents do in parenting? What are some things they did well? What did they do not so well?
  2. How does 5:21 shape our application of 6:1-4? In what ways do parents submit to their children?
  3. How does one honor his or her parents, even after moving out on one’s own?
  4. What are the current attitudes towards authority? Why do people tend to resist authority?
  5. Consider Romans 13:1-2 and Hebrews 13:17 with the teaching of the Larger Catechism on page 18. Why does the 5th commandment apply to more than parents? How does this impact your application of the 5th commandment?
