Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Ephesians 6:18-24. Why is prayer essential for the spiritual warfare highlighted in verses 10-17?
  2. Consider verse 18 and Paul’s use of the word “all.” How does your prayer life compare with verse 18? In what areas do you need to expand towards “all”?
  3. Why does Paul ask for prayer for himself? Why is it significant that Paul asks for prayer at all?
  4. What do we learn about Paul’s relationship with the Ephesians in verses 21-22? In what ways should we have the same relationship with one another in the church?
  5. Verses 23-24 are a benediction (prayer of blessing). For what does Paul pray? Why these items (and not something else)? Why do churches close their services with a benediction?
