Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Genesis 1:1-2. How do these two verses relate to each other?
- The Hebrew words for “without form and void” are used two other times in the Old Testament: Isaiah 34:11 & Jeremiah 4:23. How do these two verses help us understand Genesis 1:2?
- Read Isaiah 45:18, which uses the same word for “without form.” What is God’s design for creation? What place does humanity have?
- What questions about creation do you have? Does Genesis 1 answer all the questions that surround creation? Why do you think this is?
