Genesis: Foundations for Life
Creation Done Decently and In Order
- The Forming of Creation
- The Filling of Creation
- The Goodness of Creation
Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Genesis 1:1-25. What stands out to you about this account of creation? Is it random or orderly? How so?
- God creates light and separates it from darkness on Day 1 and then creates the sun, moon, and stars on Day 4. What does this say about the nature of light and the purpose of the sun? Take into consideration Revelation 22:5.
- Consider the pattern of forming creation in Days 1-3 and of filling in days 4-6. What does this pattern teach us about God? What does it teach us about creation? What do we not learn about creation from Genesis 1?
- Read Psalm 104, the creation psalm. What do you learn about creation from this psalm? How should creation direct our worship of God?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Psalm 104:24 O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. (ESV)
