 Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

1. Read Genesis 2:1-3. What do we learn from this passage about creation? About God? Does God need rest? Does God ever stop working?
2. What do the words “blessing” and “holy” mean for the seventh day in verse 3?
3. Read Exodus 20:8-11 and Deuteronomy 5:12-15. What reasons are given for observing the Sabbath? Why are they different in these two passages?
4. Read Hebrews 4:1-11. In what way was the Promised Land rest? What is the greater rest that it points forward to? What is our “Sabbath rest”?
5. Why is it a blessing to remember the Sabbath? What keeps you from remembering the Sabbath?
